Borneo: Penan victory over the giant oil palm Shin Yang
A small group of hunter-gatherer Penan of Borneo scored an important victory over a huge industry for the oil palm which sought their rainforests.
Last month, Survival International had condemned the Malaysian industry Shin Yang, who was clearing the forest and oil palm planting in an area where the Penan had to be resettled due to dam to make way for Murum.
