The Indian government has canceled his controversial policy which provided for the expulsion of the indigenous peoples from the lands of the richest natural point of view, to be transformed into national parks.
Under the new proposed law, indigenous peoples may be expelled only with their free, informed and prior consent.
The barons of the Brazilian meat blackmail the government
The barons of Brazilian beef are blackmailing the government of Paraguay on land inhabited by uncontacted tribes.
Last year the Indians Ayoreo have obtained the right to ownership of land, but farmers refuse to recognize it unless it is allowed to deforestare a large area adjacent to the disputed land, already in their possession.
40 years of Greenpeace
Today we celebrate 40 years of campaigning, commitment and victories. But when we are born with that action game September 15, 1971, it spun smoothly. Our founders Phyllis Cormack sailed on the vessel at a time of Amchitka, in the North Pacific to protest against an impending U.S. underground nuclear test. After days of sailing, including internal discussions and rough seas, they lost the compass ... and were intercepted and stopped by the Coast Guard. Failed to stop the test and the bomb exploded on November 6. But it was the last: the heroic attempt of that small group of activists who founded Greenpeace, conquered the front pages of American newspapers, and from then on Amchitka was never used for nuclear testing.
